Greenbelt Cares is dedicated to promoting responsible behavior and appropriate family management skills, utilizing existing community resources wherever possible and responding to the special needs of Greenbelt citizens. Greenbelt and County residents may call Greenbelt CARES at 301-345-6660 for available information or appropriate referrals related to child, family, adult and senior services within the community or visit our website here.  

The Animal Services Division prides itself on being ethical and humane in its treatment of animals. Greenbelt Animal Services is the only municipality in Prince George's County to have and operate its own shelter and adoption program. 

The goal of this program is to provide information and support to enable seniors to remain in their homes. The Greenbelt Assistance in Living Program was established in 2001 and is available to senior citizens residing in the City of Greenbelt, Maryland and/or caregivers of a Greenbelt senior.

Published by the Greenbelt Cooperative Publishing Association, Inc., our local newspaper was established in 1937 shortly after the construction of Greenbelt, one of The New Deal Green Towns.  It has been published weekly without interruption since that time and is delivered free to most Greenbelt residents. 

The Greenbelt Co-Op & Pharmacy is a community owned and operated grocery and pharmacy featuring organic foods, beer & wine. It's open to everyone you don't have to be a member to shop and save. Wine tastings are held Friday afternoons. 

These are 2 great community groups on Facebook that can connect you with your neighbors. Buy Nothing is a group that focuses on gifting, trading and offering all sorts of home and personal items. Greenbelters is a group that shares stories and news of our local happenings.
